Terms & Conditions

Last Updated : 01/06/2024

Welcome to the Andrews Jewellers website. By accessing or using this website, contacting us through the website, placing an order, requesting a quotation, or purchasing goods or services from Andrews Jewellers, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Website Use

The content on this website is provided for general information purposes only. We make reasonable efforts to keep the information accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that all information, images, prices, descriptions, availability, or services shown on the website will always be complete, current, or error-free.

We reserve the right to update, amend, suspend, or remove any part of the website at any time without prior notice.

2. Jewellery Images and Descriptions

Images of jewellery, gemstones, diamonds, metals, designs, and repairs shown on this website are for illustration and reference purposes only. Colours, sizes, proportions, finishes, gemstone shades, and metal tones may appear differently depending on lighting, photography, screen settings, and the handmade nature of jewellery.

3. Quotations and Pricing

All quotations are valid for the period stated on the quotation. If no validity period is stated, the quotation may be subject to change at any time before acceptance.

Prices may vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, metal prices, gemstone or diamond availability, exchange rates, labour requirements, design complexity, and changes requested by the client.

A quotation is not confirmed until accepted by the client and any required deposit has been paid.

4. Custom-Made Jewellery

Custom-made jewellery is created according to the client’s approved design, specifications, size, metal choice, gemstones, and other agreed details.

Once a custom order has been approved and work has started, changes may not always be possible. Where changes are possible, additional charges may apply.

The client is responsible for checking and confirming all details before production begins, including design, spelling for engravings, ring sizes, gemstone choices, metal type, and any other specifications.

5. Deposits and Payments

A deposit may be required before work begins on custom-made jewellery, repairs, redesigns, or special orders.

Deposits may be non-refundable once materials have been sourced, design work has been completed, gemstones have been ordered, or manufacturing or repair work has started.

The balance of payment is due before or upon collection, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Ownership of any jewellery, gemstones, or materials supplied by Andrews Jewellers remains with Andrews Jewellers until full payment has been received.

6. Client-Supplied Jewellery, Stones, and Materials

Clients may provide their own jewellery, gemstones, diamonds, or metals for repair, redesign, remodelling, or manufacturing work.

While Andrews Jewellers takes reasonable care when handling client-supplied items, all such items are left with us at the client’s own risk.

Gemstones, diamonds, pearls, enamel, antique jewellery, fragile settings, hollow items, plated items, and previously repaired jewellery may carry a higher risk during cleaning, repair, setting, resizing, polishing, soldering, rhodium plating, or other workshop processes.

Where possible, we will advise the client of visible risks before work begins. However, some weaknesses, fractures, treatments, previous repairs, or internal flaws may not be visible before work is carried out.

7. Repairs and Redesigns

Repair and redesign work is carried out based on the condition of the item at the time it is assessed. Additional issues may become visible once work has started.

If further work is required, we will contact the client where practical before proceeding with additional chargeable work.

Repairs are guaranteed only for the specific work carried out and do not cover unrelated wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, weak surrounding areas, old settings, worn claws, stone loss from existing settings, or damage caused after collection.

8. Ring Sizing

Ring sizing is carried out according to the size agreed with the client. The fit of a ring may be affected by finger shape, temperature, humidity, time of day, weight changes, medical conditions, ring width, and personal preference.

If a ring needs to be resized again after completion, additional charges may apply unless the resizing issue was due to an error by Andrews Jewellers.

Some rings cannot be resized, or can only be resized within certain limits, depending on their design, stones, setting style, engraving, metal type, or structure.

9. Diamonds and Gemstones

Diamonds and gemstones supplied by Andrews Jewellers are sourced through suppliers we believe to be reputable and ethical.

Where certificates, laboratory reports, or valuations are supplied with diamonds or gemstones, these documents are provided according to the issuing laboratory or supplier’s grading. Andrews Jewellers is not responsible for differences of opinion between laboratories, valuers, or gemmologists.

Natural gemstones may contain inclusions, colour zoning, variations, or internal characteristics. These are natural features and do not necessarily constitute defects.

10. Ethically Sourced Materials

Andrews Jewellers aims to work with ethically sourced diamonds, gemstones, and precious metals wherever possible through trusted suppliers.

While we take reasonable steps to deal with reputable suppliers, we cannot independently verify every stage of the global supply chain unless specific certification or documentation is requested and supplied for a particular item.

11. Collection of Completed Work

Clients will be notified once their item is ready for collection. Completed items should be collected within a reasonable time after notification.

Andrews Jewellers is not responsible for items left uncollected for extended periods. Storage fees may apply where items remain uncollected for an unreasonable period after completion and notification.

12. Returns, Exchanges, and Cancellations

Returns and exchanges are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Custom-made jewellery, resized items, engraved items, altered items, special orders, client-approved designs, and items made to a client’s specifications are generally not returnable or refundable unless faulty due to our workmanship.

For standard items purchased from stock, returns may be accepted only if the item is returned unused, unworn, undamaged, in its original condition, and within a reasonable period agreed by Andrews Jewellers.

Refunds, exchanges, or repairs will not be provided for damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, normal wear and tear, incorrect care, chemical exposure, impact, loss, or unauthorised repair by another party.

13. Warranty

Andrews Jewellers stands behind the quality of its workmanship. Any warranty applies only to the specific item and work carried out by Andrews Jewellers.

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, loss of stones due to impact or worn settings, exposure to chemicals, damage caused by another jeweller, or changes made after collection.

Jewellery should be inspected and maintained regularly, especially rings, claws, settings, bracelets, chains, and items worn daily.

14. Care of Jewellery

Jewellery is delicate and should be worn and stored with care. Clients should avoid wearing jewellery during heavy work, swimming, exercise, gardening, cleaning, sleeping, or when using chemicals, perfumes, lotions, sanitiser, or household products.

Andrews Jewellers is not responsible for damage caused by improper care, accidental impact, pressure, bending, chemical exposure, or general wear.

15. Website Enquiries

Submitting an enquiry through the website does not create a binding agreement. A binding agreement is only formed once Andrews Jewellers has accepted the work or order and any required deposit or payment has been received.

We aim to respond to enquiries as soon as reasonably possible but do not guarantee response times.

16. Intellectual Property
